Q : Trains and planes

Trains:

- Le Creusot TGV in a High Speed Trains station only (ideal for Mercurey and Lans). So it is the fastest way to reach Paris (1H15 minuts).

This train station is 25 minutes from Mercurey, 35 minutes from Lans, and 45 minutes from Saunières.

- Beaune train station is probably the best choice to reach Villa Saunières from Paris, 20 minuts drive.

- Macon train station is the best option for Chateau de Montsymond (35 minutes drive).

Airports:

Lyon airport is about 60 to 90 minutes drive to our 4 Kasteliades properties.

Geneva airport is about 90 minutes to 2 hours drive  to our 4 Kasteliades properties.

From Paris aiports we advise you to rent a car and drive about 3 hours to reach our properties. Or take a train to one of the stations we recommend above.

Q : We would like to welcome friends on visit during our stay, or organize a party with guests above the sleeping capacity of the property.

A: The capacity of our Château indicated on the rental contract is also valid for the parc and gardens of our Chateau. So it is not permitted to welcome in the property as a whole more people than the authorized capacity.

Q : We need some concierge assistance:

We recommend a local travel agency specializing in organizing tailor made excursions and tours for groups of tourists on holiday in Burgundy. https://www.7unebonneidee.com

Q : We would like to visit some wineries on our own :

Each village in Burgundy has more than 100 wine producers. My recommendation is to use the "Hachette" wine guide which we provide in the living-room library. This bible of wine in France recommends about 10 producers in each village, who offer good quality wines and who are organized to welcome public. So, just stop into a village, take the adress of the winery of your choice in the book, use your GPS to reach the place and just knock at the door. If the wine producer is away, take the next one which might only be 200 meters further.

Most people coming for the first time in Burgundy think they need assistance or a company to organize a wine tour for them. It is not the case. Wine producers are used to have people knocking at the door without any appointment. Avoid visits on Sundays and at lunch time.

Obviously the top 200 producers in Burgundy do not welcome public and do not have any wine to sell to the public. You can taste the wines of 21 of these Elite producers who don't welcome public at Christophe's wine tastings events (owner of the Kasteliades properties and wine expert). Christophe's wine tasting program can be sent by email on request.
